after survivor

Character Wish List

The characters mentioned below are the ones that we'd be most interested in adding to *after_survivor.

We are open to the characters being taken in new directions by a new player. We do however require that it be done in such a way as to acknowledge their past history in the game, and without taking them out of character in making the changes.

Lucius Malfoy

Acquitted at trial for his part in the events at the Department of Mysteries, Lucius currently wears an Auror monitoring anklet, but that's no real obstacle when you have friends with lockpicking skills. He has had a falling out with Voldemort, and has now broken away and is trying to recruit other Death-Eaters to his own splinter group by revealing Tom Riddle's halfblood ancestry to them. He is happy that his wife Narcissa is with child again, but less so concerning his suspicions that former friend Snape may be the father and the obvious abnormalities in her pregnancy. He has also taken on former Auror Kingsley Shacklebolt as both bodyguard and lover.

Severus Snape

Had a brief affair with Narcissa Malfoy which resulted in her getting pregnant. He left Hogwarts and went to Voldemort as his chief lieutenant as part of a bargain to save Lucius's life, but then had a falling out with him anyway. An unhappy man, he turned to drugs to make life in Voldemort's headquarters bearable, and was driven to uncharacteristic levels of violence by the influence of runes around his neck which Voldemort applied to 'honour' and control him. He's also missing all his memories of his dealings with the Order of the Phoenix, which doesn't help his stability. The runes have now been removed by Dumbledore, and the pensieve full of memories discovered by Lucius, but Snape is on the run from the Aurors after killing two of their number and now hiding out from Voldemort as well, so he has a long and difficult struggle ahead to reclaim either his memories or his former life.

Sybill Trelawney

It has been brought to Voldemort's attention that there may be a way to extract Sybill's subconscious knowledge of the prophecy she made from her mind. Warned of this by Snape, Dumbledore brought in a bodyguard for her as a new member of staff, but the bodyguard has recently walked off the job, leaving Sybill protected only by her reluctance to leave her tower and Hogwarts.

Ted Tonks

Inventor and tinkerer with gadgets, sports mad, a partner at Wright and Pennifold who manufacture sports equipment. He's recently been through a rocky period with wife Andromeda over his dislike of her getting back in touch with her sister Narcissa, and her hankering after living a more wizarding life rather than being content with their Muggle house in Clapham. He's currently going through a bit of a mid-life crisis, trying to get fitter, worrying about his hairline, buying a sports car to counter Andromeda's leasing of the Shrieking Shack as a studio and second home, and is taking tentative steps into the resistance by joining the fledgling Dark Force Defense League.

Rabastan Lestrange

After escaping from Azkaban with his brother Rodolphus, he persuaded a neutral Ollivander to co-operate in giving them new wands, and with the help of a device provided by Voldemort now has near complete control over the man. He has been working at the wandmaker's shop in Diagon Alley as his nephew 'Castor Allencourt', and assisting his brother and sister-in-law in hunting down and killing a number of the Aurors stationed at Azkaban during their imprisonment there, but his status is currently unknown following Bellatrix's death during a failed attack on Auror Carliesco at the funeral of some of their previous victims.

Peter Pettigrew

Ordered by Voldemort to keep an eye on Lucius's household, he was an unwelcome house guest there until an encounter with Sirius in dog form led to his silver hand being bitten off. After a spell in a Muggle hospital, he is now on the run from everyone, but Sirius is trying to locate him in a bid to clear his name, and the Auror training class have been given the Black/Pettigrew murder to study as a case file.

Horace Slughorn

Has been mentioned in passing in our game, but has never appeared. However, there are plans to sound him out about making the wolfsbane potion for Remus Lupin, a number of the adult characters in the cast are Slug Club alumni, and there may be a possibility of an opening for a Potions professor at Hogwarts and/or Slytherin Head of House.

Rufus Scrimgeour

Has been mentioned in passing in our game, but has never appeared. Fudge is still Minister for Magic in our game, so he's currently Head of the Auror Office, but with the death of Amelia Bones he would be a prime candidate for promotion to Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and there are obviously opportunities for him to make a bid for still more power and Fudge's job.

Percy Weasley

Has only appeared briefly in our game as an extra, but is still on the outs with his family. Penelope Clearwater still harbours a soft spot for him.

Cornelius Fudge

Was played during the first few months of our game, with characterisation not diverging from canon apart from the addition of a social-climber wife called Vanilla. He's still Minister for Magic, but a worried man seeing his world fall apart. There are opportunities for him to participate in a struggle for power with Rufus Scrimgeour.

Others:

  • We'd love some more students actively in play at Hogwarts, particularly sixth years. Theodore Nott, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle (Slytherin), and Dean Thomas, Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil (Gryffindor) are all currently available, as are a number of Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs.
  • In addition to the Hogwarts professors listed above, we also have openings for Firenze, Flitwick and Binns.
  • Additional Death-Eaters and Aurors are always welcome.
  • Anyone else in canon who tickles your fancy. The list of currently active characters can be found here.
